Privacy Policy

Manager in 8 Weeks (“we”, “us”) is a guided, self-paced management-development programme at managerin8weeks.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices and rights you have. If you have any questions, email us at hello@managerin8weeks.com.

Who we are

What we collect

• Account details. Your name and email address. If you sign up with an email and password, we store your password only in a securely hashed form, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
• What you write. The notes, homework answers and reflections you enter, and your progress through the eight weeks. This is private to you by default.
• Technical data. A sign-in session cookie, and the time you last signed in. We briefly use your email address and IP address to rate-limit sign-in attempts as a security measure. We do not build advertising profiles.

How we use it

• To create and secure your account and sign you in.
• To run the programme and save your notes, homework and reflections.
• To send essential account emails (email verification and password resets).
• To send optional weekly reminder emails, which you can turn off at any time in your settings.
• If you choose to share a piece of homework, to email the person you invite and give them read-only access to that one item.

Sharing your information

Your notes, homework and reflections are private by default. Nothing is shared unless you take a deliberate action to share it. The homework-sharing feature is entirely opt-in, read-only, limited to the single item you choose, and can be revoked at any time. We never sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the service, who process data on our behalf:

• Google — for “Sign in with Google”, only if you choose to use it.
• Resend — to deliver our emails.
• Laravel Cloud — to host the application and database, in the European Union (Ireland).

Where your data is stored

Your data is hosted in the European Union (Ireland).

How long we keep it

We keep your account and the content you write until you delete your account. When an account is deleted, its data — your notes, homework, reflections, progress and any shares — is permanently removed.

Your rights

You can:

• Access and edit your information at any time inside the app.
• Delete your account and all of its data. To request deletion, email hello@managerin8weeks.com and we will erase your account and the data associated with it.

If you are in the UK or the EU, these rights are provided under the UK GDPR and the GDPR.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
